Day 1 - so the adventure begins
Calgary
26.12.2010
Just hours ago we returned to our home after spending Christmas dinner with family and leaving our little Jake in good hands. We cleaned the house and did our final packing and attempted to sleep around 1 am, to my surprise I slept like a 'sawing' log while amandas nervous sleep was disrupted by a new little mouse she saw run across the bedroom floor. We are happy our house sitters, Lauren and Vuk are bringing ace their prized mouser Ace will be looking after this little unwanted guest.
It is now 9 am and Amanda and I are comfortably waiting in the biggest lounge chairs the yyc airport owns. We are staring at a picturesque view of downtown Calgary which is completely surrounded by a perfect chinook arch. The sun is beaming and so are our smiles and our anticipation of what we are about to embark upon. Our dear good friends Gizz and Jenn picked us up and delivered us well on time and getting our boarding passes to vancouver to hong kong and finally Bangkok was smooth and everything is still normal and civalized. Our next 24 hrs are going to dedicated to airports, planes, customs and for me - all new.
Five weeks away from friends, family and familiarity is challenging for me to put into reality and by our last entry into this blog I am certain of one thing. We will have seen things that we will forever remember, there will be many new friendships developed and our love for friends and family will have grown in realization of how incredibley fortunate we are.
Due to the length of this day I forsee a few entries called " day 1"; I hope you all enjoy our blog, please feel free to add your own comments as we will look foreword to hearing from you equally.
E&A out - from calgary.
